Laura Bennett from Office of Student Conduct to leave Berkeley

Great news!  One of our arch-enemies — Laura Bennett, Assistant Director of the Office of Student Conduct — is leaving Berkeley.  Good riddance! The downside of course is that when you force out one, two more spring up in her place.  Ugh: we’ve just learned that OSC has not one but two replacements for this third-rate functionary who has made a career out of witch-hunting student activists at Berkeley.  In any case, we’re thrilled to see her go and wish her luck harassing students elsewhere.  Thanks to Reclaim UC for breaking this story.  One of our comrades over at that blog has obtained her resignation email:

I wanted to email you to let you know that I will be leaving Cal — I accepted a position at another school. My last day in the office will be Tues March 15. As a result, I want to inform you that after I leave, Jeff [Woods] or Susan [Trageser] would likely be the best contacts for you regarding your case. If you have questions before then, or would like to talk about an informal resolution, please let me know.

Abolish OSC!  Hands off student protesters!

  1. Good riddance…

  2. Cretins.

What sort of a world do you want to live in, that doesn’t hold people accountable for their actions?

I wish I could be there to see how casually your ideals fade, in order to survive in the real world. I guess I’ll just have to be content to know that you’ll grow out of it. If you’re smart enough to remember what life was like as an “underprivileged” anarchist, that is.

    Trust funds aren’t forever.
